Death at Agua Fria

 

Combat begins in earnest, Grrunnarr slams forth into the skeleton in a fit of rage. Bobos with her quick thinking unleashes elemental wytchfire, shards of electric yellow energy in a blinding display, the skeleton lies motionless once more.

As the party collects themselves they realize that this will keep coming back, Dungifer wracks his brain for possible rituals to decide how to best deal with it, he suggests burying the undead horror but they are in a stone room so they decide simply to never return.

Heading out of the tomb complex they had been in they notice the mine that had been in has changed, the stone is more smoothly hewn and orbs connected by black rope illuminate the space for them. They begin heading to the floor directly below them.

The air is noticeably colder as they enter into symmetric hallways. Dungifer is somewhat worried about how much deeper this place will go and if they would need to get more water. As this conversation happens Bobos hears the sound of running water coming from the east.

As they begin their eastward trek they come to a grisly scene. 30 dwarves, all dead, torn to shreds with their weapons broken beyond use and their armor sundered, the entire floor is slippery with frozen blood. The group is on edge.

Slowly they make their way to where they hear the water rushing, it’s a massive unlit cave, but with their glow stick they can see clearly it’s covered in gemstones. Beautiful valuable gemstones, but it’s cold well below freezing cold. The group knows they would not survive long in this sort of weather. In hopes of maybe finding some solace from the cold, Bobos unleashes her flaming hands, summoning Bobos the Serious, Bobos the Might, and Bombos the Explosive. However there is no residual heal from this fire, she determines this to be a magical cold.

Grillbar attempts to convince Grrunnarr to collect water for them, as his fur would keep him warm, but he is concerned this place is dangerous and refuses to go it alone.

The group goes into the room slightly. Radcliff goes ahead to fill it himself as they begin to hear some discussion in dwarvish but no one can understand what is happening. He keeps a stealthy profile as he heads to the water's edge and finds a running stream. The surrounding side is icy but the water remains liquid. Carefully he begins to fill the water skins as he hears the dwarven talkers begin to head towards his direction. He stays still not wanting to alert them to his presence. The begin to pick up speed as they pass him, he hears them activate a few energy weapons and then heads back to the party.

As he explains what he saw the party hears battle cries and the sound of icy shattering, they begin to head back up, wanting to explore this level once they return to Punjar to buy cold winter clothes to stay warm down there.

As they begin to head back towards their entrance it is mostly quiet until they reach a  turn where they see a dwarf talking to some people they cannot see. Dungifer and Grillbar decide to be the face of the party and approach the dwarf, he is talking to three amazonian warriors.

He turns to face the two, squinting. Dungifer tries to talk to him but immediately he is cut off as the dwarf accuses Grillbar of being a “thieving yoda fuck”. He pulls out his laser sword and attempts to swing and Grillbar but the golden gauntlets he wears get’s caught on his armor and he fumbles.

Hearing the commotion Bobos rounds the corner and surveys the scene, using her laser rifle she attempts to strike the dwarven attacker but in her haste she misses and shoots Grillbar in the back. Grillbar lances his attacker only just barely wounding him with a superficial strike across his chest. Grrunnarr comes forth with two mighty swings but misses the diminutive target.

One of the amazons uses his laser knife as a thrown weapon, sinking it directly into the shoulder of Dungifer.  

Dungifer calls forth a spiritual weapon, a great holy mace to swing at the attacker, the holy blow is delivered with great effect, and then Radcliff from behind gets the dwarf with a garotte!

Kermit goes in guns blazing, using his laser pistol he shoots straight and true right into her head, killing her instantly.

One other amazon pulls her sword and readies herself as the other flees in terror.

The garotted dwarf struggles against radcliff and grabs him with unnatural strength but is unable to get him off him. Grillbar pierces true with his laser lance and kills the dwarf. The final amazon surrenders. As the party collects valuables from the dead dwarf the amazon begins to explain the situation.
